RENO — Blake Ahearn scored a season-high 35 points Monday night, leading the Bighorns to a 120-98 win over the Idaho Stampede. Terrance Thomas scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Bighorns, while Zach Graham chipped in with 17 points. The Stampede were led by Seth Tarver's 19 points, with Antoine Walker adding 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bighorns continually attacked the rim, managing to get to the free-throw line 48 times, 19 more than the Stampede. Ahearn converted 14-of-14 free-throw attempts.
Mo Charlo continued his gritty play for the Bighorns with seven rebounds and two blocked shots and Chris Davis made an impact off the bench, scoring 16 points on seven of nine shooting. Cedric Bozeman added 11 points, five assists and four rebounds in the win.
The Bighorns will look to get their first win in Bakersfield on Thursday night when they face the Jam, who are 5-1 at home this season. The Bighorns return to Reno on Jan. 3 to take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at the Reno Events Center.
