The Truckee-Carson Irrigation District Board of Directors approved, unanimously, to award a notice of award to A&K Earth Movers on Wednesday during a special meeting.

The notice allows A&K to being the initial stages of the construction process on the Truckee Canal in the Fernley Reach.

Project Manager Rusty Jardine said he expects construction to begin Jan. 1 and run through April.
