NIAA passes realignment proposal

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association's Board of Control approved the 2A-3A and 4A realignment proposal Wednesday. The portions approved were the 2A-3A Northern combination and the 4A realignment.

Under the new alignment, Churchill County High School will drop to the 3A and join the Lahontan League.

The 1A-2A Southern, 1A Northern and the 3A-4A Southern combination did not pass.

The new alignment will go into effect in this fall and remain in place through spring 2012.

For more about realignment, read Sunday's Lahontan Valley News.
