Erika Ida Kidwell

1929-2010

Erika was born as an only child in what is know known as Krnov, Czech Republic. She was born to Josef and Aloisia Fitz on February 23,1929. Erica lived in Krnov during World War II. As a German National, living in the area, all of her family were sent to a concentration camp during the Russian occupation. She survived the ordeal along with her family to return to Germany on foot to rebuild their lives after the war.

She met her husband, Howard Mack Kidwell (deceased), who was in the Army. They were married in 1948. She proudly became a US citizen in 1955. She believed in old school values, helping those that needed help and was a mother to all.

Erika and family moved to Fallon, Nevada, in 1968. She lived there until 2004. The tragic loss of her home, moved her to Eagle, Idaho.

She passed peacefully March 5, 2010, in her home in Eagle Idaho surrounded by family and friends after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was a fighter and as tough a human as we have known. She will be truly be missed by all.

Erika didn't like cancer but loved all animals, so in lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelters in her name, or perform a random act of kindness.

She is survived by her long time companion Robert Joseph Williams and her family David Kidwell, son (Maui, Hawaii), Michael Kidwell, son (Reno, Nevada), and Monica Reed, daughter (Eagle, ID), son-in-law James Reed (Eagle, ID),granddaughters Breanne Kidwell and Amber Kidwell, and great granddaughter Madison Kidwell (Portland, Oregon).

Services will be held at St. John's Cathedral, 775 North 8th St., Boise, Idaho at 10:00 a.m. on March 13, 2010.
