FALLON - Christopher John Christiano appeared in Justice Court on Thursday for a status hearing regarding burglary charges.
Christiano, 20, turned himself in to the Churchill County Sheriff's Office on Dec. 25 on a warrant alleging burglary, attempted burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.
In court, Public Defender Paul Drakulich said he could not represent Christiano because of a conflict of interest.
“This involves other co-defendants who I represent,” Drakulich said. “I think it would be appropriate for him (Christiano) to be represented by Mr. (Robert) Witek.”
Drakulich represents Daniel Massengale, who, along with Christiano and Cody Simper, allegedly burglarized Cutsom Trailers and Daisy Mae's Florist.
Drakulich, however, asked Justice of the Peace Mike Richards to release Christiano on his own recognizance. Drakulich said Christiano turned himself in and that Christiano poses no flight risk. Richards denied the request.
Christiano pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor domestic battery charge in May and received a suspended 30-day sentence in July.
“You still have not completed the previous order the court has handed you,” Richards said.
Richards reduced Christiano's bail from $35,000 to $2,000.
