Naomi Pearl Souza, 82, passed away peacefully at her residence in Fallon on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009. Pearl was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Coleman, Texas to Clarence and Faustina Weaver. She, with her husband, Elgin have lived in Fallon for 30 years. Pearl spent many years working as a waitress at Mill City Truck Stop, Cock ‘N Bull, and Jerry's. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, gardening (especially her flowers), fishing and most of all her family. She was a loving wife , mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many siblings. Pearl is survived by her husband of 52 years, Elgin Souza; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Deana Souza; daughter, Geta Carruth all of Fallon; son, David Nye of Carson City; sisters, Melba, Maxine and Lee; brother, David Weaver; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Naomi's life will be held on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at The Gardens Chapel. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, NV 89406, (775) 423-8928.
