The Fallon City Council held a regularly scheduled meeting Dec. 1 and discussed or took action on the following items:
• Approval of a purchase of real property located at 60 E. A St. for $115,000. Unanimously approved.
Mayor Ken Tedford Jr. said this land is behind the historic U.S. Post Office, which the city hopes to use to create a parking lot. The historic post office building is used for office spaces and for community events.
• Discussion and proposed adoption of updated water conservation plan. Unanimously approved.
City Engineer Jim Souba said the city established a water conservation plan in July 1992, but the state requires it to be updated every five years and be approved by the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Souba said one notable addition is a contingency plan for an emergency water situation.
The plan presented Tuesday was updated by city staff and the Nevada Rural Water Association.
