Fallon Industries Thrift Store at 165 Maine St., and Fernley Industries at 1301 Financial Way in Fernley have weekly specials.
In order to allow individuals to spend time with their loved ones for the Thanksgiving Holiday, Fallon Industries will be closed on Nov. 26-27 and re-open for regular business on Nov. 28. Donations are accepted at 1520 South Maine Street. Donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.

Saturday is a $5 clothing bag sale that will include all blue tagged clothing items.
Saturdays are Military Days
Stuf ‘N Such, “The Store,” announces Saturdays will be “Military Day” by offering to all military personnel and their families (with ID) a day of half-off pricing on all wearing apparel.
Holiday merchandise is being put out daily with great deals. The Store is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 99 S. Nevada St.
Proceeds benefit the Banner Churchill Community Hospital and The Store is staffed by volunteers from the Hospital Auxiliary.
Story time meets twice a week
“Story Time” at the Churchill County Library will now meet at the Library Annex on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11-11:30 a.m. in the meeting room at the back of the building.

The Community Service Thrift Shop, 169 E. Center St., has special sales each weekday.
A storewide half-price sale is on Nov. 23-24 including wedding gowns and formals, furniture, dishes, books, toys, pictures, shoes, music, bedding and much more. All merchandise in the sale room is on sale.
CSTS receives many requests for assistance from people who have no place else to get assistance with housing, utilities, or prescriptions on a one time basis. CSTS is a non-profit and staffed by more than 25 volunteers who have chosen to “ give back” to the community by donating their time and skills.
Leave your clean, resalable donations between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.
Hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
Soroptimists offer cash award
Soroptimist International of Fallon is offering a $1,000 cash award to a woman who is the primary support of her family and is enrolled or accepted into an undergraduate program or skills training program.
Applications may be obtained by contacting Terri Pereira at 423-8992 or mpereira@charter.net or by accessing www.soroptimist.org and following the directions for the Women's Opportunity Award program.
Applications are due by Dec. 15. Soroptimist members and their families and previous winners are not eligible.
Republican women meet Nov. 25
The Lahontan Republican Women's next luncheon meeting is Nov. 25, 11:30 a.m. at Stockman's Steakhouse.
Speaker Bill Parson will present his reason for running for the seat currently held by Sen. Harry Reid. He will also share his vision for Nevada's future. RSVP to program chair at 423-6491.
Narcotics Anonymous offers daily, weekly meetings
“The Good Fellas,” a local chapter of Narcotics Anonymous, offers several meetings each week and invites interested persons to attend.
The Good Fellas meet Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at New Frontier Treatment Center, 1490 Grimes St., and a women's-only group meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at New Frontier. The Good Fellas also meet Wednesday nights for “happy hour” from 7-8 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 1420 Grimes St.
On weekends, The Good Fellas meet Saturdays for a breakfast meeting with guest speakers from 10-11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, and on Sundays from 10-11 a.m. at New Frontier Treatment Center.

The Fallon Writers Group meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Churchill County Senior Center, 310 Court St. Come and share your love of writing and meet other.
The group welcomes any genre of writing — poetry, children's stories, fiction, non-fiction, memoirs or any other writing. Come share your work and meet other who love to write as well. The group is interested in hearing from diverse people in the community.

Eagle Riders hold Two Wheel Tuesdays at Eagle Hall
Two Wheel Tuesdays are hosted each Tuesday by the Eagle Riders Group at the Eagles Hall, 7977 Highway 50 at 6 p.m. The Riders are a family-oriented community support group of motorcyclists that live to ride and love to help people in the community. Meals are available for $5 per plate a will vary depending on who decides to cook each week.

SFA hosts shooting seminar
Stillwater Firearms Association is hosting a free Introduction to Steel Plate/Handgun Shooting Seminar on Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. at the SFA private shooting range near Fallon.
This seminar will cover match format, range safety, shooting tips, and live fire at steel plate targets at 15 yards. Required is a solid knowledge of safe firearms handling. NRA certified Range Safety Officers will supervise the event. Bring your handgun(s) and plenty of ammo.
Nearly any centerfire autoloading pistol or double action revolver is appropriate; most suitable are .38 Special through .45 ACP calibers. NO magnum ammunition as they damage the steel targets. Spare magazines/speed loaders are recommended. Eye and ear protection required. (Limited number of spares will be available.) “Strong side” holster required (no shoulder or crossdraw). Semi-auto handgun holsters must cover trigger.
