The Churchill County Commissioners held a regular meeting Thursday morning where they discussed or took action on the following items:
• Request for donation from the Fallon Swing Kids. Unanimously denied.
• Fallon Hearts of Gold Cantaloupe Festival request for financial assistance for 2009 festival. Unanimously denied.
• Request for donation for the Eagle Riders Fifth Annual Stocking Stuffer Run. Unanimously denied.
• New Business C — Grant request in support of the Oasis Stampede & Country Fair to be held on July 30-31, 2010. Unanimously denied.
The commissioners denied each request for donation, assistance or grant due to a lack of funds in the budget and because such donations are not a primary function of the board. They instructed each party to wait until a form for donation requests is approved by the board for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.
• Ordinance 106 amending Churchill County Code, Chapter 8.16. The ordinance will provide explicit permission for civilian police officers to address matters around Naval Air Station, Fallon and or the security of any federal military installations located in Churchill County, Nev. Unanimously approved.
• Acknowledgment of recordation of a conservation easement on property owned by Franklin B. and Joyce C. Wadsworth at Crook Road, Highway 50 and Stark Lane. Unanimously approved.
• Approval of ADS Hotsite Services for Disaster Recovery IT support. Comptroller Alan Kalt said this hotsite will allow Churchill County to upload computer storage at another location and have the county computers back online within an hour in case of an emergency where the county administration building is shut down. Unanimously approved.
• Approval to purchase laptops and software for use by various boards in Churchill County. County Clerk and Treasurer Kelly G. Helton said these laptops will help reduce paper use and the problems associated with transferring large amounts of paper information to computer storage. Unanimously approved.
• Approval of the 2009-2010 Collection Development Application for use at the Churchill County Public Library. Library Director, Barbara Matthew's this will allow the library to replace lost, stolen or damaged books. Unanimously approved.
• Consent Item A — Public Notice of Proposed Action and Public Hearing for Bango Oil, LLC. Unanimously approved.
• Consent Item D — Notification from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection of the issuance of a discharge permit for the Moody Lane Regional Water Reclamation Faculty. Unanimously approved.
• Consent Item H — District Court overturns State Engineer's decision to grant Southern Nevada Water Authority water rights permits in Cave, Dry Lake and Delamar Valleys. Unanimously approved.
Commissioner and departmental reports — Commissioner Norman Frey said the Parks and Recreation board has had recent difficulty holding a meeting due to absent board members. He said this issue may be brought before the board of County Commissioners in the future.

New Business 4 — Authorizing the management of the CC Communications Telephone Enterprise Fund to establish a Risk Management Fund Account. The item was tabled until the commissioners could do more research.
