Upcoming performances include Lacy J. Dalton

Lacy J. Dalton is back on the Comstock!

She will be appearing Saturday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Virginia City's historic Piper's Opera House.

Dalton has been singing her way around the country this past year but Piper's is thrilled to have her once again back on its history-filled stage.

A favorite far and near, Dalton is unforgettable as she and her band, the Dalton Gang, play and sing one beautiful, memorable, funny or famous song after another.

Even when Piper's is filled to its max for her concerts, she has a way of touching each person there and making them feel at home.

This concert will benefit Piper's Opera House, a nonprofit dear to Dalton's heart. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

They can be purchased by calling (775) 847-0433, (866) 422-1956 toll free or by visiting www.lacyjdalton.com.

Eureka Opera House

The Eureka Opera House presents “Paul Zarzyski and Wylie Gustafson” on Friday, Nov.13, at 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Adults are $7, seniors $5 and children 15 and under accompanied by an adult are admitted free.

Paul Zarzyski, recipient of the 2005 Montana Governor's Arts Award for Literature, has been a featured performer at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, the National Storytelling Festival, the National Folk Festival, and has recited at the Library of Congress, and Festival Hall in London, as well as on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion.

Wylie Gustafson is a full-time rancher as well as being one of America's most popular traditional entertainers. Wylie gets up every day and tends to the livestock. It grounds him and is the backbone of his art.

Wylie and his band, The Wild West have just released their 14th album with 13 new songs from the untamed West. Wylie partnered with Paul Zarzyski on seven co-writes for the album.

The daring duo has thrown the gate open to new arenas of contemporary western songwriting.

For information, call the Eureka Opera House from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at (775) 237-6006.

WNCmusical

The magic and splendor of Siam comes to Western Nevada College as the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company brings Rodgers and Hammer-stein's classic, “The King and I,” plays at the Carson City Community Center on weekends, Nov. 7-22.

Winner of multiple Tony and Academy awards, the play tells the story of a British schoolteacher coming to Siam to educate the children of the King, a ruler entrenched in Eastern customs but intrigued with the West.

Their unexpected and unlikely affection for each other overrides the vast cultural differences that separate them.

Tickets are available by phone at (775) 445-4249, and at Realty Executives, 1071 S. Carson St. There is no service fee for charging by phone. For information, call (775) 445-4249.
