WHITEFISH, Mont. — University of Great Falls sophomore outside hitter Tosha Nunes has been selected as the Frontier Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 19-25.
Nunes — a 2008 Churchill County High School graduate and former standout player for the Lady Wave — led the Lady Argonauts to their seventh consecutive conference victory. Great Falls defeated Lewis and Clark State and Westminster College at the UGF McLaughlin Center.
“We're pleased that Tosha has gotten this recognition, UGF coach Arunas Duda said. “Tosha had some struggles early this season but she stayed the course and continued to work hard. She's playing very good for us right now.”
Nunes totaled 13 kills in the two matches, including 16 versus Lewis and Clark and 14 against Westminster.
Nunes was selected from a field five nominees, including Sara Brunner of Rocky Mountain College; Katie Daly, Montana Tech; Ericka Evans, Westminster and Sammy Priddy, Carroll College.
The Lady Argonauts are 13-9 overall and 8-2 in conference play.
