A 28-year-old Fallon woman was sentenced in District Court onTuesday to six years in prison for her role in the sale of a controlled substance.
Judge David Huff told Renae Rossback she would receive the maximum penalty after her fourth felony conviction.
Rossback was arrested by the North Central Narcotics Task Force on Aug. 12 as part of an investigation involving several suspects selling drugs in Fallon.
Rossback pleaded guilty on Sept. 8 to sales of a controlled substance. According to Churchill County District Attorney Art Mallory, Rossback admitted to selling drugs for about six months.
“Three months after being released from prison, she again started using methamphetamine,” Mallory said.
She requested through her attorney for probation, but Huff declined and sentenced Rossback to six years. She will be eligible for parole after 28 months.
According to Assistant District Attorney Lane Mills, Rossback was convicted on Aug. 1, 2006, of unlawful use of a controlled substance and convicted on Nov. 21, 2006, on two counts of failure to appear.
In other court news
Wendy Lattin was found guilty for fraudulent use of a credit card, but her sentence has been suspended. Should Lattin violate the terms of her parole, she will face 32 months in prison.
Lattin is to continue with Drug Court, not use alcohol, obtain her high school diploma, obtain a mental health evaluation and attend counseling as recommended.
