RENO — Super middleweight contender Joey Gilbert returns to the ring on Saturday in the main event at Fallon Fights/Rural Rumble '09, an action packed evening of professional boxing at the Churchill County Fairgrounds presented by Reno's Let's Get It On Promotions and the city of Fallon.

Let's Get It On promotions was founded by legendary boxing referee and former Washoe County District Court Judge Mills Lane and is now run by his sons, Terry and Tommy Lane.

Tickets starting at $15 for adults and $10 for kids 17 and under, are available through the Fallon Convention Center by calling (866) 232-5566 or (775) 423-4556. More information can be found at www.fallonfights.com.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first bell at 7 p.m.

“We're very happy to work with the city of Fallon and their team for the second year in a row to present this event,” the Lane brothers said in a prepared statement. “We've got an excellent card put together and are looking forward to another terrific evening of professional boxing.”

Gilbert, 17-2-0 (13KO's), is returning to the ring following his showdown with cross-town rival Jesse Brinkley on Feb. 14 at the Reno Events Center. He will fight Ivan Stoval (10-4) of Pomona, Calif. at 167 pounds.

“I'm very happy to be given this opportunity to fight again in the Northern Nevada area,” Gilbert said. “I've been in the gym for the last few weeks and have been working very hard towards returning to the ring.”

Featured on the undercard are brothers Derek and Tyler Hinkey of McDermitt. Both will be looking to improve upon their most recent appearances on the undercard of the Jesse Brinkley/Mike Paschall bout in the Summer Showdown event on July 10.

Derek Hinkey goes against Valentine Jalomo (3-3) of Texas at 161 pounds. Tyler Hinkey fights at 200 pounds against Yohan Banks (2-3) of San Jose, Calif.

”Derek won his fight but he felt his performance was a little lackluster and he's looking to putting on terrific performance in Fallon,” Terry Lane said. “For Tyler, it's a chance at redemption, he's looking forward to bouncing back from his first loss and he is grateful for the opportunity to do it in Fallon.”

Middleweight Derek carries a record of 8-1-0 (7 KO's), while Tyler's first loss moved his record to 5-1-1 (4 KO's) in the heavyweight division.

Also on the card, sensational undefeated lightweight prospect Bayan “The Mongolian Mongoose” Jargal will make his first Northern Nevada appearance.

Thrilling crowds across the country with his thunderous power, Jargal carries a record of 13-0-1 (9 KO's) into battle, most recently knocking out previously undefeated Josh Durden on July 25 at Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Jargal will fight Carlos Contreras (20-14) of Texas at 200 pounds.
