After last year's group won the state tournament at Spanish Springs, Fallon's 12-70 all-star baseball team looks to repeat as it travels to the Reno for this year's four-day tournament.
Fallon will play the host Silver State tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the North Valleys Regional Park. For the first time in the state's Cal Ripken history, Southern Nevada will be represented as Pahrump opens the tournament against Sun Valley at 5 p.m. If Fallon wins, it will play Sunday at 4:30 p.m. against the winner of Spanish Springs vs. Pahrump/Sun Valley. A Fallon loss puts the all-stars in the consolation bracket at 5 p.m. on Saturday against the loser of Pahrump/Sun Valley.
The championship game is Monday at 5:30 p.m. and an “if” game will be 30 minutes later. The winner will represent Nevada in the regional tournament in Bakersfield, Calif.
Stanford Christy is at the helm of this year's team and is assisted by Scott Bischoff and Mel Jabines. The Fallon all-star team includes Dalton Frank, David Hughes, Sage Mori, Ali Tedford, Austin Bischoff, Kyle Evans, Garrett Johnson, Shon Plamondon, Lane Boyle, Nathan Heck, Joe Pyle and Jordan Schultz.
