Dorothea P. Britton passed away at Renown Medical Center in Reno, NV , on Sunday, June 21,2009.
Dorothea was born in New York on November 8, 1919 to John and Jean Monski.
She spent most of her life in Fresno, CA., also living in Kingman, AZ. before moving to Fallon 18 years ago. Dorothea got her high school diploma at the age of 56. She wore many hats during her working years, she was a licensed Cosmetologist working for many years at that trade, in California , New York and New Jersey. Her and her husband owned a trucking company which she was the dispatcher for.
Dorothea was a member of the Red Hat
Society while living in Kingman. She was well known for her art work, painting in oils and
watercolors, she enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband George Britton. Dorothea is survived by her sons John Britton of Kingman, AZ; Edward (Cathy) Britton of Clovis, CA,; daughters Teresa Montgomery of Fallon; Carmelita (Frank) Rodriquez of Sun Valley, NV; grandchildren Don Britton;
Christina Britton; Alan Britton; Thomas Britton; Scott Britton; Fermina Navarro; Setta Gutierrez; David Montgomery; Thomas McDonald; Tomehawk McDonald; Teresa McDonald; Gerardina Rodriquez; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11 A M at the Odd Fellows
Cemetery in Fresno, CA.
