At the Farmers' Market, our volunteers are making a difference. In the accompanying photo are Carol Johnson, Penny Cassell and Bettina Shaw, new Auxiliary President Connie VanWye, and Auxiliary Trustee Gail Williams. All these women are volunteers committed to making a difference in the city of Fallon.

Penny Cassell just graduated from nursing school as an R.N. and is now working at Banner Hospital, and Bettina Shaw is a volunteer at Banner Hospital, among other organizations that she volunteers at.

You will find our Eagle volunteers all over town helping wherever there is a need. All of these ladies volunteer many hours a week to help their community.

The Eagles, as a group, last year had over 5,000 hours of volunteering — that breaks down to 125 full 40-hour weeks. Someone from the Eagles was working for the Fallon community and making a difference in someone's life, and more than $50,000 was raised last past year (2008-2009).

The Eagle Riders, a motorcycle riding club, is the fastest growing club “within a club.” The Riders raised over $6,000 and contributed countless volunteer hours as well. This group of volunteers has not yet begun to do what they are capable of doing. Some of our finest members have one passion, and that is to ride motorcycles. This group of the Eagles has only been in existence since December of 2008.

The Eagles are “People Helping People.” Visit us on Tuesday at the Fallon Farmers' Market located at the fairgrounds. We will be flipping burgers and grillng hot dogs for you from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For information about the Eagles, call 867-2447.
