IMCA Modifieds will be racing on Saturday at Rattlesnake Raceway
|
Fallon's Rattlesnake Raceway roars into the spirit of Octane Fest with three classes of cars racing on Saturday afternoon.
360 Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds and Rat Mods take to the dirt oval beginning at 3 p.m. Gates open at 10 a.m.
The races mark the fourth day of racing at Rattlesnake this season. Heading into Saturday's action, Bill Pearson and
Shawn Natenstedt are dominating the IMCA category, with Pearson holding a slim 104-103 lead over Natenstedt. Wade Lumsden is in third with 81 points, followed by Adam Walters and Jessie Gonzales at 75, Tommy Teeters at 70 and Rich Hill at 69. Dustin Jenks, who dominated the IMCA's last season, is eighth at 68. Malen Gonzales and Darren Manning at 67 round out the top 10.
“The IMCA races have been pretty spectacular,” Nadenstedt said. “The car count has been pretty good. The track's been in good shape and it's been anybody's game the last three races we've had up there. There's been five or six cars that could win any night.”
Nadenstedt said that Saturday's races won't count toward the track point total for the season but will count toward the national IMCA points race.
“Saturday is going to be a little different,” Nadenstedt said. We're going to have a lot of out of town cars in the mix and some local guys won't make the show.”
Glenn Lee tops the Rat Mods so far with 116 points, followed by Louie Miranda at 112, Duncan Lee (108), Frank Kay (73), David Woods (72) and Sean Renfro (68). For the 360 Sprint cars, it's Tony Taylor on top at 117, Mike White is at 111 and Wayne Walsh at 104. Rusty Bagin (80) and Galen Reese (37) round out the competition.
After Saturday, Rattlesnake's next races will be on July 4 and include the annual fireworks display.
