Mild case of swine flu reported in Lyon County

A mild case of swine flu or the H1N1 flu virus in northern Lyon County has been confirmed Friday afternoon by the Nevada State Health Division.

According to a press release, the individual is under the age of 18 and his home recovering.

Absenteeism in Lyon County schools is below usual absenteeism rates with no unusual illness rates identified, reports the NSHD. The division along with other agencies made a decision to leave the juvenile’s school open.

Currently, eight cases have been confirmed in Nevada.
