Davis is Fallon's new swimming coach

Steve Davis is Fallon’s new swimming coach.

Davis succeeds longtime coach Atsuko Perkins, who resigned after last season to take an assistant coaching position at the University of Nevada. He's is a math and science teacher at Churchill County High School. This is his second season with the Greenwave swimming program after serving as assistant coach last season.

Davis grew up in Marin County, Calif., in the Bay Area north of San Francisco. He began swimming at the age of five and attended Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, where he was a member of the Trojans’ powerful swimming program and played water polo.

He spent one year at the Air Force Academy then transferred to Sonoma State University, where he was a member of the Cossacks’ swimming team.

Davis coached swimming for 13 years in California, including stints with Marin Catholic High in San Rafael, the Rolling Hills Stingray summer club in Novato and the Marin Wood Water Devils club team. He also coached water polo in the Golden State. He holds college degrees in physics and criminal justice, and was a Churchill County probation officer for 10 years before becoming a teacher. He taught at Lahontan Valley High School last year before moving to CCHS after LVHS closed.
