“The Nutcracker Ballet.” Thanksgiving weekend at the Carson City Community Center

It’s their 20th Anniversary, and Pinkerton Ballet Theatre will again beautifully intertwine the Christmas holiday season with dance in a family favorite everyone will enjoy as they present a special production of “The Nutcracker Ballet.” Performances will be at the Carson City Community Center on Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 28th and 29th at 7 pm, and 2 pm on Nov. 30th.

The cast of 90 includes members who hail from all over the local area and a number of featured guest artists will travel from around the nation to join the festivities in this holiday extravaganza.

Dancing the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy is Melissa Framiglio. She trained at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, Boston Ballet, Chautauqua Festival Ballet and the Rock School, after which Melissa joined Louisville Ballet, where she performed for over ten seasons.

Scott Trumbo will portray the Cavalier, having trained with the San Francisco Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet, where he began his professional career. He later joined Oregon Ballet Theatre, spent eight seasons there and is presently a member of Bouand Dance Company in Portland, OR.

Pinkerton Ballet Theatre is delighted to have Tristi Ann McMaster Robinson back this year, dancing the role of the Snow Queen. She is a native of Carson City, where she began her training at Pinkerton Dance Academy under the direction of Fern Pinkerton. Tristi’s career credits include dancing as a principal with Washington Ballet and Richmond Ballet, a soloist with Atlanta Ballet and a member of Milwaukee Ballet Company.
