SILVER SPRINGS - Dr. John Cassani and the entire Eastern Sierra Medical Group (ESMG) staff have announced a series of health-related programs including screenings, lectures and a health fair that will benefit residents in Silver Springs, Stagecoach and surrounding areas.
The community-focused programs will feature Dr. Kevin O'loughlin, a board certified plastic surgeon, who will conduct free skin cancer screenings in Silver Springs Sept. 24 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lahontan Medical Center, 3595 US Highway 50, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silver Springs Senior Center, 2945 Ft. Churchill Road and then again from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Silver Springs Senior Center.
Dr. O'Loughin specializes in skin cancer surgery, surgical and non-surgical treatment of tumors, burns, wounds, acute hand injuries including fractures and dislocations. He treats soft tissue injuries of the face and extremities as well as fractures. Dr. O'Loughlin advises that his passion is reconstructive surgery; however, his practice does include cosmetic surgery, skin restoration, breast augmentation/reduction/reconstruction and liposuction.
In addition to the screenings, ESMG will also host a Community Educational Series. The first of these lectures will be at the Silver Springs Senior Center, Fort Churchill Street, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. The topic will be "Sneezes, Coughs and Headaches." The event is free to the public and will include refreshments and opportunities for Q&A with health professionals.
To date, ESMG has three additional lectures scheduled for Jan. 20, May 19 and July 21. Topics include "Preventing and Managing Diabetes," "What's My Health Status" and "Oh, May Aching Back," respectively.
Renown Health and ESMG plan to partner with the Healthy Communities Coalition of Stagecoach and Silver Springs to conduct a Health Fair at Silver Springs High School, April 25. Additional opportunities for health screenings and fairs are being explored.
Eastern Sierra Medical Group's current hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
