The Lady Wave tennis team had a tough season opener, losing 14-4 to McQueen on Tuesday at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.
The Lancers defeated the Wave 4-2 in round one and 5-1 in rounds two and three.

"McQueen is always strong," Fallon head coach Tommy Thomson said. "They've got a lot of girls to pick from."
Lauren Ryon shined for Fallon, winning all three of her singles matches. The Wave senior defeated Caitlin Kemper, 6-1, Cara Gillespe, 6-1 and Leanne Diss, 6-2.

"I'm really pleased with our singles play today, especially from Lauren," Thomson said. "She's one of the top players in Northern Nevada. She's been one match away from state the last three years and we expect to get her there this year."
Fallon's only other match winner was the doubles team of Ariel Endacott and Joycelyn Conner, defeating Rachel Collins and Mariah Manning, 7-6, in round one.

"Joycelyn and Ariel both looked good today," Thomson said. "It was Joycelyn's first match as a varsity player."
The Lady Wave's next match is today at home against South Tahoe at 3:30 p.m. They host Wooster on Tuesday, also at 3:30p.m.
