Kelso writes sequel to "The Christmas Angel"

Guardian Angel Publishing, Inc. announces the release of the sequel to "The Christmas Angel" written by Fernley author, Mary Jean Kelso, and illustrated by renowned wildlife and Western artist, K.C. Snider of Redmond, Ore.

"One Family's Christmas" is a story about the descendants of an Oregon pioneer family and her special treasure she carried along the Trail.

I have been anxiously awaiting the sequel to "The Christmas Angel," and "One Family's Christmas" is certainly worth the wait.

I think I enjoyed this book even more than the first one in the series as it reminded me so much of myself. I have a love of history and could appreciate this family's excitement over finding the angel heirloom in their attic, and the pride they felt in being able to display it on their Christmas tree.

These two books together will make for some great discussions in your family. I especially appreciate the extra pages at the end, explaining genealogy and how to learn more about your own family lineage.

As a homeschool mother, I'm always looking for those added "extras" that make a book more educational.

"One Family's Christmas" is available at www.guardianangelpublishing.com and book stores including Mark Twain Book Store in Virginia City, Borders Express, Barnes and Noble, Amazon and others.

Kelso and Snider, will be signing books at The Western Art Roundup in Winnemucca through Sept. 1; at Borders Express in Meadowood Mall in Reno on Sept. 20 at 11 a.m.; and at Barnes and Noble on Virginia Street in Reno, on Sept. 21 at 2 p.m.

"The Christmas Angel," "One Family's Christmas," "Andy and the Albino Horse," "Andy and Spirit Go to the Fair" and other young adult and adult novels by Kelso will be offered. "The Magic Violin" by Mayra Calvini (illustrated by Snider) will also be available.
