Things got back to normal this weekend at Top Gun Raceway.
The drag strip 15 miles south of Fallon hosted two full days of races, with a schedule that included making-up some of the rained out races from the previous weekend. The action included Morpar and street legal races as well as a motorcycle races. Sunny weather greeted all the racers and fans in attendance.
"Perfect weather and track conditions, along with a great car count made for some excellent races," track director John Stauverman said.

In Saturday's action, Cassandra Barrett won both Super Pro races in her 1973 Chevrolet. She won the first race with a time of 10.807 seconds and a speed of 138.10 miles per hour and the second race in 10.713 seconds and 1.39.71 mph. Eric Doukas swept the Pro category, winning the first race in a 1965 Pontiac in 11.565 at 113.48 and the second race in 11.383 at 119.06. Alaina Roseland was a double winner in the high school races in her 2002 Olds, taking the first race in 19.438 at 67.57 and the second race in 17.957 at 70.04.
In Saturday's Sportsman races, Dave Gonzales won race No. 1 in an '86 Olds, doing it in 12.338 at 100.36. Bob Thomas took the second race in his '72 Vega in 13.685 at 84.39. The Morpar race went to Kevin Steelman, driving a '65 Plymouth, in 13.091 at 99.77.
The Junior Dragster races were split between Grace Rowan and Curtis Moffett. Rowan won the first race in 11.179 seconds at 55.20, Moffett captured the second race in 8.226 at 68.82.

The motorcycle race really wasn't a race at all as their was only one contestant. Jay Matthews took his '78 Kawasaki down the track in 10.31 at 129.36 the first time, and in 10.302 at 130.84 the second time.
In the Sport Compact race Ryan Tanoue won in his '04 Subaru in 13.552 at 84.95.
Sunday saw far fewer races run as only regularly scheduled events were held.

"We finished in mid-afternoon, giving drivers from out of town time to be home for dinner," Stauverman said.
On Sunday, Tami Phillips, took the Sportsman race in her '74 GTO in 13.161 at 99.81, Tommy John won the Pro race in his '63 Falcon in 9.840 at 137.30. Lonnie Grace took the Super Pro race in an '02 Cavalier, finishing in 9.001 at 147.37. Roseland completed at weekend sweep of the high school races, winning in 17.890 at 77.22. Amber Whooley was the top Junior Dragster, winning in 9.698 at 66.38. Matthews once again raced his Kawasaki against no competition other than himself. He beat his best time from Saturday, finishing in 10.158 at 131.24.
Top Gun's next action will be the Lucas Oil Invitational, June 14-15. Categories include Alcohol Dragster, Alcohol Funny Car, Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. It's the fourth of seven events in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Pacific Division series, and is part of Fallon's Octane Fest, a week long series of motorsports events running from June 10-15.
