Officers with Fallon ties honored Friday at Peace Officers Memorial

Print Comment
Two officers killed in the line of duty with ties to Fallon were honored Friday at Reno’s Idlewild Park at the 21st Annual James D. Hoff Peace Officers Memorial.
Fallon Paiute Shoshone Officer Adam Menuez and Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Kara Kelly Borgognone were recognized for their service.
Menuez, 27, died July 4, 2007 in a single vehicle rollover accident at the intersection Rio Vista Drive and Indian Lakes Road while responding to a call for service in the early morning hours.
Kelly-Borgognone, 33, was critically injured in a car accident in Spanish Springs Feb. 25 while responding to a bomb scare call north of Sparks. She was kept alive for two days so her organs could be donated to others.
The annual memorial honoring officer James D. Hoff also recognized other officers killed in the line of duty with an enshrinement during the ceremony.
