The Churchill County Museum Association announces a new exhibit in its Dodge-Fitz Changing Exhibit Gallery: "What's Still Western About Nevada?"
Photographers Susanne and Gary Reese enjoy capturing images of rural Nevada and its people. View 38 of their images taken all over the state in this new exhibit.
Their photo show will be on display through April 19.
Susanne Reese is an award winning artist whose specialty is watercolor and photography. In addition to displaying her work throughout southern Nevada, her documentary photography of the Elgin One-Room School house historical re-enactment was published in Nevada Magazine. Reese's "day job" is working in special education for the Clark County School District.
Her "Art Cart" program brings watercolor, art appreciation, and photography classes to the students.
Gary Reese is an instructor of photography at the College of Southern Nevada. Besides teaching beginning and intermediate photography classes, he has developed courses in photographing our natural and cultural heritage, photographing heritage of the West, as well as continuing education courses in the rural communities which he loves to photograph.
Reese feels that photographers need to take a multi-disciplinary approach to their photography.
By studying history, biology, sociology, and anthropology, they can enhance their artistic interpretation of our natural and cultural heritage.
