Ernest Eugene Field
Ernest Eugene Field (Gene), 78, died after complications from a major heart attack on Friday, March 14, 2008.
Gene was born June 20, 1929 in Hinsdale, Ill., to Ralph Eugene Field, an engineer, and Hazel Wallack Field, a ballerina and ballet teacher. Gene graduated high school from St. Procopius and attended the University of Chicago. During this time, Gene was drafted into the Korean Conflict. Gene served from Oct. 3, 1951 through Oct. 2, 1953. Gene was assigned to the 82nd Airborne where he was trained/worked in finance processing military payroll records in Indianapolis and for the Enlisted Men's Correspondence.
Gene complete his education, receiving a master's degree in accounting. Gene worked as an auditor for Ernest & Ernest in Puerto Rico. Gene was certified in Illinois, California and Florida as a CPA. After his retirement as a CPA in Orlando, Fla,, Gene decided to settle down in Fallon.
Gene is survived by his twin brother, Donald Field of Orlando; his daughters, Candy Kong Kee of Honolulu; and Cindy Field of Concord, Calif. Gene had three grandchildren - Nicole Field, Faith Kong Kee and Sage Kong Kee. Gene also had two great-grandchildren Ð Caitlyn Field-Swansick and Kyah Bailey.
His family will gather at a later date for his memorial and celebration of life.
The family would like to thank Janet Delgado for being more than a housekeeper; she was a true friend, checking on our father and taking care of his dogs Bosco and Coco.
Arrangements are under the direction of Truckee Meadows Cremation and Burial, 616 S. Wells Ave., Reno.
