Alexander Woolverton
Alex Woolverton, 87, died at his home in Fallon on Friday, March 14, 2008.
Alex was born Jan. 27, 1921 in Ruby Valley to Roy H. and Anne Gardner Woolverton. Alex graduated from Elko County High School and attended UNR for one year before enlisting in the Army and serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
Alex was a retired electrician living most of his adult life in Reno.He was a member of the Electricians Union IBEW in Reno.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters and his wife of 62 years Maurine (Pursell) Woolverton.
Alex is survived by his daughter Mary J Sauer (Wayne L.) of Fallon, grandchildren Gretchen Sauer (Gary Barnes) of Pasadena, Calif.; Paige Sauer of Greeley, Colo.; Bryce Sauer of Fallon; brother Mickey Woolverton (Gladys) of Missouri and sister Elsie Iverson of Washington, plus numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Dr. Marie McCormack for all of her kindness and compassion.
At Alex's request there will be a memorial at a later date in Ruby Valley.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home Crematory, Cemetery 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon.
