Sharie Haslip
Sharie Haslip lived a full and wonderful life. In her life she held many roles; daughter, sister, loving mother, doting grandmother and best friend.
Born Sept. 20, 1946 to John and Vera Hesse in Seattle, Wash., she was the oldest of six children: John Hesse, George Hesse, Bill Hesse, Donna Lloree Leinhart and Janet Hesse (deceased). She completed her earthly mission on March 14, 2008.
Filled with a strength unsurpassed in her life, to the very end she accomplished goals others would say impossible. As a mother, she raised two small girls with little or no help, worked numerous jobs and with much fortitude, purchased their first home and continued on to buy her second, third and finally the home she truly wanted for her own.
Sharie touched many lives in her time on this earth. Those who knew her best loved her deeply, for she was a great and wonderful friend. For those of us she touched, we will be forever grateful. She was always there with a helping hand to help us achieve our goals and encourage us to do what our heart desired.
Her greatest passion in life was her family. Best times were spent at rodeos, monster truck rallies and sitting at the table playing cards or a board game.
No matter what else was going on in life, family came first. She took great pride in going to grandkids baseball games and rooting them on. Her cheers could be heard above all others.
Sharie is survived by her daughters, Robyn Lawrence and Hydi Devere, granddaughter, Victoria Opoka-Devere, all of Fernley; mother, Vera Hesse of South Dakota; brothers, John Hesse of Idaho; George and Bill of South Dakota; and sister, Donna Lloree Leinhart of Oregon.
Friends are welcome to attend services on Friday at 3 p.m. at 1510 George Lane in Fernley. For directions call Hydi and 742-3708 or Robyn at 742-3694. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Lung Cancer Research.
