Floyd Bernard Bendickson Jr., 52, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at his residence.
Floyd was born Oct. 20, 1956, in Quinn, S.D., to Floyd Sr. and Berit Bendickson. During childhood he lived in Milesville and Cottonwood, S.D. He graduated from high school in Philip, S.D., in 1974.

Floyd served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating high school. He worked across the country for many years for an energy exploration company.
Floyd moved to Fallon in 1985 and worked as a bartender and later owned a yard maintenance business. For the last several years, he worked as a water pump technician for Parsons Drilling.

Floyd liked sports, fishing, shooting pool and reading Western novels. He also enjoyed attending music and comedy concerts.
Survivors include parents Floyd Sr. and Berit Bendickson; sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Doug West, all of Philip, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law Kent and Diana Bendickson, of Spearfish, S.D.; and brother and sister-in-law Keith and Pauline Bendickson, of Forest Grove, Ore.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in South Dakota. A celebration of Floyd's life will be shared at a potluck luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Fallon Elks Lodge.
