RENO - Foul trouble sent three players to the bench and the rest of the Greenwave boys' basketball team to a season-opening loss on the road Friday night.
"We just stopped moving our feet and got a little fatigued," Fallon coach Corey Williams said. "We just kind of bailed out and had our hands out in front of them. We had a short rotation in that first half because we sat some kids who missed practice."
Fallon blew a 10-point lead in the third quarter and sent Damonte Ranch to the free throw line 19 times in the fourth as it lost 59-53 in the non-conference contest.
Billy Sorensen led the Greenwave with a 13-point effort, and Dexter Daum and Jared Floyd each had 10. Garrett Adams scored eight points and fouled out along with Russell Smith and Alex Rodriguez.

"We had a lot of first-game jitters, and we didn't execute the way we should have," Williams said. "It got a little better in the second half once the adrenaline settled. They'll get better. We just have to execute better."
Three players scored the majority of the Mustangs' points with Kelten Hall powering in 20 points, including half in the fourth quarter. David Howard scored 14 points, seven in the fourth, and Kyle Brush added 13.
Fallon opened the second half with a 9-0 run to lead 33-23 with 4:09 left in the third quarter after Rodriguez's putback on Adams' 3-point miss. The fouls continued to pile up as Damonte Ranch reached double bonus late in the third quarter.
Adams hit Floyd with an alleoop off the inbounds pass and also sunk two free throws to keep the Greenwave ahead by seven before the fourth quarter.
