The Fallon High School Rodeo Club recently concluded its 2007 fall season with 27 members including nine freshmen.
Besides competing in the arena for the past two months, the local rodeo club members have been active with their community projects.
The club participated in a canned food drive and delivered their collections to a local food pantry for Thanksgiving.
Members are now working on their Western and Christmas crafts for their annual Christmas Craft and Dessert auction that will be held Saturday at Harmon School. The event is open to the public, and there will be furniture, quilts, leatherwork and artwork available for purchase. Hors d'oeuvres are at 6 p.m., and the auction is at 7 p.m.
The major fundraiser will be held on April 5-6 when the club sponsors a two-day high school rodeo.
Fallon members are working hard to qualify for the national team. Fifty percent of the points earned at qualifying rodeos and all points awarded at the Nevada state finals determine the top four contestants in each event. The top four will represent Nevada at the national finals in July at Farmington, N.M.
