Despite the unusually early snow and win at Ely, Fallon's cowboys and cowgirls recently competed well at the White Pine High School Rodeo.
Devin Norcutt finished the two-day rodeo as all-around cowboy, and Chelsea Hubner was all-around cowgirl.
Hubner placed first in the barrels on the first day of competition and third on the following day. Marisa Julian came in second, and Mandi Taylor placed fifth. Taylor came in second in pole bending on the first day. She dropped to fifth on the second day, followed by Kenady Howard in sixth and Morgan Howard in eighth.
Morgan Howard, though had a first-place time in goat tying on the first day. Julian had a pair of first-place wins in cutting.
Colt Capurro came in fifth in boys' cutting on the first day and second on the second day. Norcutt came in fourth in calf roping. On the first day, Norcutt finished first in saddle bronc and steer wrestling.
Capurro and his partner had the best time in team roping, and Norcutt and his partner came in fifth. On the second day, Teryn Archuleta and Dylan Norcutt came in sixth. Capurro and his partner were ninth.

The following results are from the Churchill County Parks and Recreation's Coed Volleyball League.
Lahontan Valley Meats defeated Boomers Misfits, 15-17, 15-9 and 15-2. The Misfits were looking for their first win of the season. They won the first set and were leading in the second before falling.
Century 21 needed three sets to stop Banner Churchill Community Hospital, 15-8, 13-15 and 15-0.
High Speed Spikers dropped the first set but came back to defeat Fox Peak, 10-15, 15-7 and 15-7. Fox Peak showed good intensity in game one and the start of game two.
Prime Time overtook In Stitches, 13-15, 15-9 and 15-9. The last undefeated team falls as Prime Time's serving game and defense carries them to the win
League Standings through Oct. 22.
