Well before and ever since his infamously secretive Energy Policy meeting in 2000, Vice President Richard Cheney has actively tried to mislead American opinion. He arrogantly believes that his "former association" with war-profiteering Haliburton, his 2002 effort to persuade the CIA to make unsubstantiated reports about Saddam's possession of WMD, his sly encouragement of the outing of CIA operative Valerie Wilson and his recently reported stealth in undermining any White House staffer advice with which he disagrees can go undetected or overlooked by the American people.
A quick U.S. congressional impeachment of this modern day Robespierre would do much to restore our tarnished global image and act as a moral catharsis for the nation.
