High school rodeo results from Washoe and Lincoln



The Fallon High School Rodeo Team competed at Washoe County last weekend with Mandi Taylor taking all-around cowgirl on Saturday and Morgan Howard winning rookie on Sunday.

The team had 13 members who placed in the top 10.

Barrels - Taylor placed second in 17.984 seconds. Marisa Julian placed 10th in 18.529 on Saturday. Jordan Norcutt came in sixth in 18.166 on Sunday.

Poles - Taylor placed had a second-place ride in 20.866, and Chelsea Hubner took third in 21.306. Julian finished sixth in 21.575 on Saturday.

Girls' cutting - Cara Julian placed second on Saturday with 72 points and was third on Sunday with with 71.5. Marisa Julian tied for 6/7/8 on Saturday with 69 and was second Sunday with 72.

Goats tying - Jordan Norcutt took first place on Saturday in 8.28. Howard followed in second place in 8.31 on Saturday and captured first place on Sunday in 8.81.

Team roping - Colin Steele and Logan Nuttall were fifth on Saturday in 12.86. Terynn Archuleta and partner Gene Harry of Fernley roped their way to second in 6.73, while Justin Johnson and Sean Sweeney were sixth in 8.59. Jordan and Devin Norcutt placed 10th in 14.18.

Breakaway - Howard tied for 7/8 in 3.56 on Sunday

Calf Roping - Nuttall was runner-up in 12.4 on Saturday, and Colin Steele placed fourth on Saturday in 12.81 and sixth on Sunday in 12.9, Colt Capurro placed 10th Saturday in 15.32, and Devin Norcutt finished seventh on Sunday in 13.12

Boys' cutting - Colt Capurro tied for 5/6/7 Saturday with 69 points and was seventh on Sunday with 64.

The next high school rodeo is at Elko on Saturday and Sunday and at Wells the following weekend.

Lincoln County results

May 4-5

Barrels - Taylor came in first on Friday in 17.092 and fourth on Saturday in 17.249, Hubner was first on Friday in 17.017, and Howard rounded the barrels in third place on Friday in 17.239. Jordan Norcutt took eighth on Friday in 17.682.

Poles - Taylor came in fifth on Friday in 21.516 and fifth on Saturday in 21.713. Hubner was ninth on Friday in 22.418 and seventh on Saturday. Howard was 10th on Friday in 22.437 and sixth on Saturday in 21.369.

Girls' cutting - Cara Julian was second on Friday with 73 points. Marisa Julian rounded out the top 10 on Friday with 66 and placed second on Saturday with 72.

Goats - Jordan Norcutt finished sixth on Friday in 9.99 and fourth on Saturday in 9.05.

Breakaway - Jordan Norcutt was seventh in 4.17, and Howard placed eighth in 4.21. Jessica Gurr took 10th in 4.42 on Saturday.

Calf Roping - Nuttall was fourth in 12.68 on Saturday, and Archuleta took eighth place on Friday in 16.67 on Friday.

Boys' Cutting - Capurro was fifth with 67 points.
